Starting

Starting

The hardest part of any task is just starting. We live in a day and age where everything is done online. Any business, it can be your local farmers market all the way up to retail, must exist online in order to grow. If you’re not online, your not playing the game, in fact your not even in the vicinity of the stadium to play the game.

Now that we’ve established the fact that you must be online, how do you start?
GIVE! GIVE! GIVE! Find a service you can provide or something your good at and just produce content. Willingly give out as much content as possible, expecting nothing in return. Give your best piece of advice, tell people what worked for you, and provide your expertise in your respective field for free!

One of my subscribers recently emailed me asking they love to write but they don’t know how to start. He asked the right person because I hated writing yet I managed to start and now it’s not so bad. Imagine how much better he’s going to be with a passion for writing from the start! The answer is simple; just release everything you got online. Take advantage of Medium where you can post and share blog posts for absolutely free. Take advantage of Twitter and Tumblr and even Facebook. If you really want to get fancy purchase a domain and start a website. Start releasing your writing free of charge and on a consistent basis and eventually, you will get back what you put in. If you love music, start releasing your music everywhere. Upload your mp4 files on Facebook, upload your music on Soundcloud, take advantage of YouTube and upload everywhere you can. You need to love the process and trust that you will eventually get something back. It takes years to receive something back, you need to be very patient but if you don’t start now, your only delaying your time. Look at your favorite youtubers and bloggers, with exception to only a few, they’ve spent years with followers in only the hundreds. It’s only after years of consistent content that an up rise in following occurs.

The best piece of advice that I can give right now is to just start. You don't need to be perfect, just look at my stuff. I’m assuming you’re an impatient person and you dream of fast results. I hate to break your bubble but results are never fast and if you let your ego get ahead of you and don’t want to hustle in the times you have single digit followers and engagement, you’ll never have the opportunity to hustle for the millions.
