Social Media and Content production
My intuition says producing content is one of the best things you can do right now for absolutely free. Content worth value ultimately creates a brand and eventually a business. The smartest thing someone can do right now for no cost at all is to start providing useful information and figure out a way to get it to your target audience.
Conventional marketing and infomercial adds don't sell product anymore. Strategic content on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat SELLS! The old way of selling is unfortunately still incorporated in large businesses. Marketing employees don't want to run the risk of putting a 1 minute 30 second video on Facebook and having it fail than putting a traditional Q.V.C style tv commercial. If the tv commercial fails, there's no problem and no consequence for the employee because thats the conventional route and thats how everybody does it. However, if the employee does something new and that fails it creates the risk of getting fired. Big businesses would excel even more if they gave more freedom and encouragement to their employees to try new things because start up companies are taking advantage of social media and there making huge advancements. Traditional and safe marketing strategies have to be forgotten because a 30 second tv commercial doesn't build trust with a customer. Producing content and providing value over a span of time creates trust.
The cellphone is the new television and learning to sell where attention is the greatest is the smartest thing to do. Big businesses and even small ones who are not incorporating social media marketing will reap the consequences.
