Self-Image

Self-Image

It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power!
— Robert T. Kiyosaki

This is cliché but you can literally be anybody you want to be. My intuition says what you see yourself as in your head is eventually the person you become. I’m no scientist or psychiatrist but one thing that’s proven and certain is that our subconscious mind is powerful beyond measure. Why not always have a self-image of someone who we want to become? Picture your ideal self in terms of health, personality, wealth etc. and always keep that picture in your head. When you look in the mirror always see the best version of yourself and eventually you will become that person. I learned this strategy from Bob Proctor, a highly recognized business and life coach. Do yourself this favor and always hold a self-image of your ideal self. There’s nothing to loose only a boss ass person to gain.

Take an index card and describe the best version of yourself. Then write the habits this best version always partakes in. And then for an added bonus have a picture of what your best version may look like underneath. For example, my card describes a fast paced business tycoon with relentless business skills and habits. Underneath the writing, I have a picture of Michael Corleone from the godfather for his ability to function under stress, his decisiveness, and his commanding of respect. Keep this card with you at all times and look at it every couple of hours to remind yourself of who you really are. I keep this card in my wallet at all time where its now almost falling apart but it still gets the job done.

Always hold a self-image of your ideal self. If you have a negative self image, even if you make improvements in life, your going to eventually come back down to the negative person you see. Bob Proctor uses the example of a thermostat to explain this. When your self-image lets say is at 65 degrees, when you become 70 degrees the air conditioning will kick in and bring your ass back down to 65. Have your thermostat at 100 degrees.
