Why do we get motivated and then hustle for maybe 1-week tops and then eventually die out? Why do some of us not stay consistent and work to our full potential every day of the year? Why do we let external circumstances impact the work we do? I came up with a hypothesis after thinking long and hard and I believe its because we come from a place of need and scarcity when we do our work. Lets take school for an example, “I need to get a good grade on this test”, we study hard for that test, we possibly get a good grade, and then we completely forget the material. Lets take my blog as another example, “I need to post something”, I think for like 30 minutes, and then I knock out an article which I wont remember a few weeks later. Coming from an internal place of need and scarcity will never let you reach your true potential. Lets say your super motivated and hustle for 1 year consistent, IF YOUR WORKING FROM AN INTERNAL STATE OF SCARCITY, YOU WILL EVENTUALLY DIE OUT. If you’re reading this in the U.S, you’re in the 4% of the world who gets to live in one of the greatest country. This is the safest time to be alive in the history of the world. If your reading from another country, the fact that you have the Internet means you have endless possibility and reach that you could never have had before. I don’t know how, but we need to start thinking and feeling positive while there’s a shit ton of negativity out there. I don’t know how exactly you’re going to be consistent with your hustle, but I do know you can’t be hustling from a state of need and scarcity. I’ve seen it fail for me and countless others.
