You can’t go 0 to 100 real quick. It’s the first week of the New Year and we all are pushing ourselves to work beyond what we normally do. We watch motivational videos or a motivational picture and tell ourselves were going to hustle for 18 hrs. nonstop the next day. I fell victim to this mentality on Tuesday and from my experience I failed miserably. I told myself Monday night I’m going to wake up Tuesday and nonstop hustle for 18hrs ;I barely got 5 hours of real work done. This made me come to the realization you can’t go from 0 to 100 as fast as you think.
Hustling is like training. You can’t just decide your going to bench 225 for 6 reps when the most you’ve ever done is 135 for 6. If you work 2 hours on your hustle, I mean really work, without distractions and fully focused, you can’t just decide to work for 18hrs the next day and expect it all to work out. Best-case scenario, you work 18hrs for a couple days and then die out. You need to make small incremental changes to your work ethic. Maybe increase your work by 30 minutes every week. Sooner than later, you’ll build the discipline and strength to work those 18hrs on your dreams. Its crazy, in the beginning of 2016, I worked 0 hours on my dreams and goals. I spent a couple hrs. working on college work and then I would mess around with my remaining time. By the end of 2016, I get 2-3 hrs. of real work on my business done after my schoolwork daily. This was not always the case, I would work maybe 30 minutes in the beginning, as I began making progress and things began falling in place, 2 hrs. of hustle has become a staple. By the end of 2017 I want it to be at 8-10 hrs. of really working on my business every single day.
Its not easy, but it’s a process, slow and steady wins it. As Gary Vaynerchuk says, you need to push from both extremes of being patient as fuck and working hard as fuck. You need to be a contradiction and work with the mindset of making it in the long run but at the same time work with the intensity that you’re going out of business tomorrow. Build up your work ethic; don’t get discouraged you can’t hustle for more than a couple hours or even a single hour. Keep working and incrementally building and sooner than later, you will see massive change. Don’t fall of the boat 2017 and if you do get your ass right back on. LETS GET IT, slow and steady!!
